  • The Classic Matcha Latte

    Tagline: A creamy, comforting latte that lets the complex flavours of our Premium Matcha shine.

    Prep Time: 2 minutes

    Ingredients:

    • 1 tsp (about 2g) Ocha Premium Grade Matcha

    • 30 ml hot water (about 80°C - just before boiling)

    • 250 ml of your favourite milk (oat, almond, or dairy milk work beautifully)

    • Sweetener of choice (e.g., honey, maple syrup) to taste

    Equipment:

    • Matcha whisk (Chasen) or a small handheld milk frother

    • A matcha bowl (Chawan) or your favourite mug

    • A small sifter (optional, but recommended for clump-free matcha)

    Instructions:

    • Prepare the Matcha: Sift your premium matcha powder into your bowl or mug. This ensures a silky-smooth texture.

    • Create the Paste: Add the 30 ml of hot water.

      • With a Chasen (Whisk): Using a "W" or "M" shaped motion, whisk vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the matcha is fully dissolved and a light froth appears.

      • With a Frother: Blend for 10-15 seconds until smooth and frothy.

    • Froth the Milk: Heat your 250 ml of milk until hot but not boiling. Froth it until it's warm and velvety with a good amount of foam.

    • Combine & Sweeten: Pour the frothed milk into your bowl/mug over the prepared matcha paste. Gently stir to combine. Add your desired sweetener and stir once more.

    • Serve Immediately: Enjoy the harmonious blend of rich, umami matcha and creamy milk.

    Pro-Tip: For an iced latte, prepare the matcha paste as in steps 1 & 2. Fill a glass with ice, add 250 ml of cold milk, and then pour the matcha paste over the top. Stir well before drinking.

    • Store airtight in a cool, dark place (avoid light & heat).
    • Keep dry! Moisture ruins freshness (don't refrigerate unless necessary).

    • Use within 4-6 weeks after opening for peak flavor and vibrancy.

    • Always seal tightly after use to prevent oxidation.
